Hello from France!  After a few delays and close calls, I made it.  I landed in Geneva around noon here after being awake all night on the plane.  To say the least I wasn’t the most excited visitor the frist day.  Guillaume and Christine walked into the airport after waiting a few minutes with a warm French welcome.  Interesting enough, walking to the car and the next hour was quite quite.  All of us were fearful of saying something wrong or stupid.  Eventually I gave in by butchering some phrases and we laughed historically.

Ironically enough, we drove to a “Tex Mex” restaurant for my first meal in France.   Christine simply cracks me up with her humour and he husband, George, is even funnier.  They welcoming could not have been better and their laid back personalities make their family the perfect place to learn French while laughing in every conversation.  After only a day my vocabulary has greatly grown from Guillaume and I hanging out most of the time and teaching me at every moment.  We rode backs through their city Voperre, a small city outside Grenoble, to a park for some tennis.  Later we drove around running errands in the city.

The food has mostly been what I expected.  Fresh bread and a lot of great cheese at every meal, sitting around the table for an hour or two talking, or laughing at my attempts to converse in French.  As I said before, the family is great and their home is a perfect place to learn.  My goal is to give a short update every few days here.  Partically to help me process the days and to keep anyone interested updated.  Would love to hear what’s going on in the states so feel free to leave a comment for me!  Almost time for bed so, so I will say farewell.
